WATER SUSTAINABILITY

It is critical that a higher education institution has access to clean and healthy water.  Water boosts mental activity and improves performance. Since the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Technology is concerned about the health of its students, staff, and visitors, it actively gives free drinking water to them throughout various group events. Aside from that, free drinking water is available at several points across the faculty for everyone’s usage. Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Technology (FMET) recognises its obligation to conserve and maintain water as a sustainable faculty. FMET takes advantage of the opportunity to give free clean drinking water to students and staff.

Idea 2

FOOD HUNGER, INSECURITY AND INTERVENTION

Several measures have been launched for the FMET villages to ensure that all FMET communities, particularly students and staffs, receive appropriate help and nutritious food.

FTKM (FMET) FOOD BANK

The FTKM (FMET) Food Bank operates on a monthly basis, with specialised food aid provided to people in need at any time. The FTKM Food Bank can be found in the room of the Mechanical Engineering Technology Student Society (METSS) and on table benches along the student walkway’s sidewalk area. It is open weekdays, and special attention is given to situations such as covid-relief food assistance, Ramadan food, and any other festival-related for students who are stranded in the college. The main goal is to establish a secure location where current FTKM/FMET students can receive high-quality, nutritional food aid. Also, this initiative also aims in establishing and publicising a food donation collection area on campus.
