What entry qualifications do I need to study Engineering and Engineering Technology at UniMAP?

For candidates from the Ministry of Education Matriculation programs (or equivalent) category:

  • Passed satisfactorily in SPM examination or its equivalence
  • Obtained credit in Malay Language in SPM examination or its equivalence
  • Obtained at least 2.00 CGPA in the Ministry of Education Matriculation program or its equivalence
  • Has taken the Malaysian University English Test (MUET)

In addition, all candidates must fulfill both general university requirements as well as the specific requirements of the academic program chosen, namely, passing with at least a ‘C’ (or 2.00) two subjects of one of the following combinations:

  • Mathematics and Physics
  • Mathematics and Chemistry
  • Mathematics and Biology (options available for Material Engineering applicant only)

Candidates who do not take Physics at Matriculation level should have passed this subject at SPM level with at least a credit.

For candidates from the Malaysian STPM (or equivalent) category:

  • Passed satisfactorily in SPM examination or its equivalence
  • Obtained credit in Malay Language in SPM examination or its equivalence
  • Passed with at least a ‘C’ (or 2.00) in STPM General Studies
  • Has taken the Malaysian University English Test (MUET)

In addition, all candidates must fulfill both general university requirements as well as the specific requirements of the academic program chosen, namely, passing with at least a ‘C’ (or 2.00) two subjects of one of the following combinations:

  • (Mathematics T or Advanced Mathematics T) and Physics
  • (Mathematics T or Advanced Mathematics T) and Chemistry
  • (Mathematics T or Advanced Mathematics T) and Biology (options available for Material Engineering applicant only)

Candidates who do not take Physics at STPM level should have passed this subject at SPM level with at least a credit.

What is the different between Engineering Course, Engineering Technology Course and Technology Course?

Engineering:

Theory 70%, Practical 30%

Engineering Technology:

Theory 50%, Practical 50%

Technology:

Theory 30%, Practical 70%
